Hey all hows things?

Can't believe I've only just stumbled upon this website, it's good to see Jeff fans appreciating and discussing his work.

I've been a collector of his music since I heard his ridiculous and distinctive vocal range coming from my brothers stereo many years ago. I collect any audio releases (excluding bootlegs - only official releases and promo's) and would estimate my collection to be one of the biggest there is.  I've recently emailed Mary Guibert about setting up a website with a definitive discography including all promo's to help others looking to start or bolster their collection (but received no response - sigh)

If any of you guys have anything in your collection you would consider ultra rare, or want any information on a release let me know.

Well I'm off for a look around the forum,

Laterz!

welcome El V. !

due to the brief nature of his career, theres actually not a huge amount of 'official' material, (especially that could be considered rare...)

if you look at the discography here, you'll find its pretty complete already :)

Hi Mr Strong,

you're correct in that his brief career limited his official releases, but my collection runs into the hundreds for audio items (vinyl, cd, cassette, mini disc etc) and only includes official releases, the amount of Columbia promo's released for certain albums/singles was ridiculous.

Your discography is one of, or possibly the best I've come across. I would be happy to send you details and pictures of the items I have in my collection that aren't currently included in your discography to make it that bit more complete and assist anyone looking to fill any gaps.

Hi Em,

It's in a file on my home computer, but as soon as I'm back home in England next month I'll be happy to share it.

I only recently did it before I had to came to America, I kept forgetting what I actually had in my collection so took pictures of every item, front and back, and loaded them onto the computer into sub folders depending on the format and listed them under their catalogue number. (I've recently bought a duplicate promo cd in error as I haven't currently got access to it :-\ )

It was a pain in the ar*e as it took a while to do, but I wanted them documented somewhere incase anything happened or any went missing. It's also pretty sad but JB stuff is the only thing I collect so I let myself off..

I've sent an email to Phil and msa with a few attachments, I limited what I sent as it was taking a bit of time and required 3 emails (due to attachment sizes) but if it's of any use it's no problem to get more sent in the future.

Emma - unfortunately I'm not sure how to get a list up on the internet of what I've got along with pics and info etc but if you send me your email I'll cc you in on any future emails I send to Phil and msa and will forward you the previous email sent yesterday.

El V

p.s if anyone could explain how to compress or reduce the size of the pictures/files I have it would be much appreciated, I'm a bit of a techno pleb

Hey El,

thanks for the email, i'm kinda busy packing atm, but will hopefully get onto getting your stuff into the site when i have some time... (or Jaysbee can do it??? :P)

regarding image sizes:
1) use photoshop or gimp.
2) turn dpi down to 72
3) reduce your images to around 1280 x whatever in size
4) save as jpg, at around 75-85%

that should reduce sizes drastically!
