Anyone read it since or thinks Dream Brother is enough alone or must be paired with Apter's take on Jeff?

...also just found out that another came out by Anthony Reynolds (Jeff Buckley: Mystery White Boy Blues) which is based on the very same approach as Pure Drop as quoted from its review, "explores the rocker’s life and legacy in unprecendented detail."

I just wish all these books would serve what they should but I'm just maybe too pessimistic about them...

Pure Drop is much better than Browne's book. Don't know why so many seem to think Browne's book is the standard by which to judge other biographies. Browne uses a lot of hearsay and makes unfounded assumptions. His book in effect portrays Jeff as a borderline pyscho, one step away from an asylum. Apter is more scholarly, and only draws inferences based on sound evidence. Reynold's book is decent. But Apter's is the best of the lot.
